French Curriculum (A1 → C2)
Our curriculum is built on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Each level develops specific grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills, so you know exactly what you’re working toward.
A1 Foundations: Identity & Basic Communication
- Introduce yourself and others
- Ask and answer simple questions about personal details
- Handle basic routines: greetings, time, dates, prices, directions
Language focus: present tense of high‑frequency verbs, simple sentence patterns, essential vocabulary for family, home, food, and basic services.
A2 Everyday Communication: Daily Life & Simple Narration
- Manage everyday interactions (shopping, appointments, transport)
- Give and understand simple instructions
- Talk about past experiences and future plans in basic terms
Language focus: expansion of present tense, introduction to passé composé, common connectors, and vocabulary for services, health, and travel.
B1 Independent Communication: Opinions & Narratives
- Describe experiences, events, hopes, and ambitions in more detail
- Express and justify opinions on familiar topics
- Handle most situations that arise in daily life
Language focus: wider use of past and future forms, introduction to conditional structures, and connectors for organizing ideas.
B2 Debate & Analysis: Argumentation & Professional Writing
- Participate in discussions and debates
- Understand the main ideas of complex texts
- Write structured, coherent texts such as reports and essays
Language focus: confident use of indicative, conditional, and basic subjunctive; nuanced connectors; and precise vocabulary for work, studies, and society.
C1 Academic French: Data, Research & Critical Analysis
- Understand long, complex texts and academic articles
- Interpret data from graphs, charts, and research summaries
- Produce well‑structured essays, commentaries, and reports
Language focus: advanced connectors, complex sentence structures, and discipline‑relevant academic vocabulary.
C2 Mastery & Synthesis: Near‑Native Precision
- Read and interpret literary and highly specialized texts
- Lead high‑level discussions on complex topics
- Produce sophisticated written work with personal style and control
Language focus: idiomatic expressions, stylistic choices, and rhetorical strategies for persuasion and nuance.
